Mechell Guy, EdD, is a skilled Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) at Dr. Messina & Associates in Southlake, TX. Dr. Guy is known for a warm, relaxed, and comfortable approach to counseling to improve emotional and behavioral problems utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Dr. Guy earned a Doctorate of Education in Community Care and Counseling, emphasizing Marriage and Family Therapy, from Liberty University. She completed a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Communications from Dallas Baptist University.

In addition to counseling, Dr. Guy is a talented and accomplished Masters-level Trainer with over 20 years of training experience, serving in such roles as the Assistant Vice President of Learning and Development for JPMorgan Chase Bank. She was also co-owner and Executive Director of a private practice counseling agency serving over 500 clients yearly. She has provided training and presented at numerous counseling associations, business organizations, independent school districts, churches, and communities.

The most important aspect of her life is her family. Dr. Guy’s blissful marriage for over 30 years and their daughter and son have been a constant joy throughout her life.
