About Dr. Verlage

Megan Verlage, MD is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist who believes in empowering patients throughout their mental health journey. She strives to ensure that patients and families understand their symptoms, treatment options, and what to expect from treatment with medications. She works with adolescents and adults with a variety of emotional and behavioral problems at Dr. Messina & Associates, in Southlake and Flower Mound, Texas, and online throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio.

Dr. Verlage is Board Certified in General Adult Psychiatry and has received training in treating patients across the lifespan, from children to older adults. She completed her residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, with a specialized focus in Women’s Mental Health.

During residency, Dr. Verlage received awards for teaching and patient case formulation. After residency she continued with UT Southwestern Medical Center as an Assistant Professor and worked as an emergency psychiatrist at Parkland Memorial Hospital, the busiest emergency department in the United States.

Dr. Verlage wants her patients to feel heard and understood. She believes that every patient and their family should feel comfortable and trust their psychiatrist, and she aims to achieve this with everyone she works with.
