About Kristi Rodriguez

Kristi Rodriguez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate (LMFT-A) who works with children, adolescents, families, couples, and adults with a variety of issues and difficulties at Dr. Messina & Associates in Flower Mound and Southlake, Texas.

Kristi enjoys working with people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, family attachment issues, grief, and loss. She creates an atmosphere of compassion and warmth with a strong client-centered collaborative approach and utilizes Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Narrative Therapy, as she has found these to be most effective in treating the challenges mentioned. In addition, Kristi is fully trained and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, which she uses to help clients reprocess trauma and manage distressing symptoms without needing to relive the past.

Kristi’s aim is to provide a safe, supportive environment where clients can process their feelings and struggles while identifying personal and relational resources that will help them move closer to the person they want to become.

Kristi earned her Bachelor of Science degree in University Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington and her Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Wesleyan University. Her clinical experience includes The Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders, and she is also a certified facilitator for Prepare/ENRICH premarital and marital enrichment counseling.

A native Texan, Kristi has been married for over twenty years and is the proud mother of two grown daughters who give her great joy. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and serving in a women’s prison ministry.
