About Laura
Laura Cooke, MA, is an empathetic and skilled licensed professional counselor (LPC) at Dr. Messina & Associates in Southlake, TX. Laura has over 10 years of experience counseling children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of difficulties. Laura specializes in anxiety, depression, ADHD, child oppositional behavior, parent-child relationships, and trauma, including sexual abuse.
She utilizes a compassionate, relational approach and evidence-based methods, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed therapy, to achieve her client’s goals. She understands that seeking help is a big step, and she will work with you at your own pace to guide and empower you towards healing and growth.
Laura received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University. She has provided counseling at non-profit organizations and in private practice.
She is active in her community, volunteering with organizations that support and advocate for women and children who have been in abusive situations, along with serving the homeless through Union Gospel Mission, and campaigning for the wellbeing of animals through Farm Sanctuary. Laura loves fashion, books, and movies. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
