About Shaina

Shaina King is a Board Certified Child and Adolecent Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over five years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and community-based care. Shaina works with children and adolescents with various emotional and behavioral problems at Dr. Messina & Associates, in Southlake, Texas, and online throughout Texas. 

Shaina provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and evidence-based medication management to pediatric patients of all ages. While she enjoys supporting individuals across the lifespan, she has a special passion for working with children and adolescents—helping them build emotional resilience and long-term well-being from an early age.

Her patient-centered approach emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and respect for each person’s unique experience. She strives to create a safe space where patients feel heard and empowered in their mental health journey.

Shaina earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. Driven by a lifelong fascination with how the mind works, Shaina is passionate about helping others achieve clarity, peace, and inner happiness. She blends clinical knowledge with compassion to offer care that is both effective and personal.

Outside of work, Shaina enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and daughter, and finds joy in the simple moments of family life. She remains committed to ongoing learning and staying current in the field of psychiatry.
