Ashlea Palafox, LPC, BC-DMT, GL-CMA is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT), and a Certified Movement Analyst (GL-CMA) who utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Dance/Movement Therapy to treat emotional and behavioral problems in children, adolescents, and adults at Dr. Messina & Associates, in Southlake, Texas.

Ashlea specializes in treating ADHD, anxiety, depression, child behavioral issues, eating disorders, and other emotional and relational difficulties. She has worked with clients on issues related to the quality of life, mood and emotional regulation, trauma, body image, life transitions, relationship challenges, and prenatal/postpartum difficulties.
Ashlea holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance from Texas State University-San Marcos and a Master of Arts degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Columbia College Chicago. Ashlea has continued her advanced training by earning a Graduate Laban Certificate in Movement Analysis and just completed training to become a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist.
Since 2014, Ashlea has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in inpatient medical and psychiatric settings, an eating disorder clinic, and in outpatient settings. Ashlea is a board member of the ADTA and currently serves on the Illinois Chapter Board of Directors as President. Ashlea is a licensed professional counselor in Texas and Illinois.
